The reason is that this age group did not build a strong enough immunity with just one dose. However, one injection does provide about 80% protection. I am sharing your blog with lots of my friends. You are right - there is so much misinformation out there. We are part of the Mariemont School District and they provided vaccinations last Friday. Both of my daughters got the vaccine and I am so glad they did! Since they are both 9, they are due to go back for their second round in November. I have not seen a lot of information on the reasoning for two rounds of vaccine. Will they not be fully protected until the receive the second round of vaccine?
